“We find beauty not in the thing itself but in the patterns of shadows, the light and the darkness, that one thing against another creates.”
― Jun'ichirō Tanizaki, In Praise of Shadows

Lighting first and foremost is about functionality. Natural or artificial, light is required for us to properly function within a space. Lighting design, as any other design disciplines, is also about aesthetic. It requires taste to assess that lighting isn’t just proper to its function but also visually pleasing, serving the desired psychological effect to the human experience.

A concept for refined visual serving functional purposes has to be backed with a meticulous technical planning. As a relatively new discipline, lighting designers are still often have our role misunderstood in a project. In order to have a robust project, lighting needs to be integral part to the project, involves from the beginning of the design process to the end of construction and styling end.

Our process of work:
  1. Conceptualization
  2. Schematic design
  3. Detailed design and documentation
  4. Tender supervision
  5. Construction support and supervision
  6. Final programming and adjustment

The whole process requires dialogues with clients, architectural design teams, and construction teams.

We provide detailed drawings as well as other technical specification sheets, load schedules, etc. Tests and mock ups are used on and off site to explore possibilities and tecnicality regarding details and constructions. Site supervision is needed throughout the phase of construction to ensure the design and drawings are executed as planned. At the final stage we review the entire installation, direct the light fixtures as intended, program the scenes and lighting control, as well as handover process for management and maintenance.
